Mom Retired

My mom doesn't seem old enough to retire.  She still looks the same to me.  After 30 + years at IUN mom decided it was time for her to retire.  It was hard to see her go since we both work at the same place.  The university held a small reception in her honor.  It was so nice to hear the many kind words they said about my mom and it was all true!  Everyone said how much they were going to miss her!  Congratulations on your retirement mom.  You deserve it for a job well done!

Matthew Graduated! Class of 2012

I am proud to announce that my nephew and godson, Matthew graduated from high school this year.  As some of you may already know Matthew was born three months premature and came into this world only weighing 3lbs 4oz.  The doctors didn't know if he even would survive.  Well he did and now he is a nice young man who we are very proud of.  He will be attending IUN in the fall.  We can always use another IU grad in the family.  Here he is posing with his grandparents.

INTRODUCING BELLA!

We would like to introduce our newest family member, Bella.  We rescued her from the Hobart Humane Society in May.  She was dropped off at a stray and just had puppies.  Our family was lucky to adopt her and make her apart of our family.  She is the sweetest thing.  Norbit even likes her too.  Here is a pic!

Anne Mari's Braces Journey

The braces are off and the crooked teeth are gone.  What is left is a mouth full of straight teeth!  It was a long, painful process for Anne Mari and my pocketbook, but we both would say," It was worth it"!  What a difference from beginning to end.  She has gone from a kid who didn't want to smile to a young lady who hasn't stopped smiling from the time she got them off!  Here are the before and after pics.  See for yourself.

We have a 9 Yr Old in the house!!!

Jamee celebrated her 9th birthday at home with her family and friends. On the menu was roast beef sandwiches and brats. If you come to our parties you wont' leave hungry. Jamee got a big surprise from her dad and I as well as her grandparents-Lanie the American Girl doll. She has been asking us for this doll since it came out. We tried on several occasions to win this doll for her but we were unsuccessful. I had it delivered to the house and she thought it was a car part her dad ordered. She was very excited. Jamee also got so many cute outfits to add to her summer attire. She is going to be the best dressed 9 yr old on the block thanks to her family. She is one lucky gal!!!!! Happy Birthday Jamee!

So long crooked teeth-You are herby evicted!!!!!

Anne Mari finally started her long awaited orthodontics. She is really excited to get rid of those crooked teeth. The process started with oral surgery. In order to straighten her teeth she needed to lose 5 permanant teeth. OUCH!!!! Poor girl inherited my teeth. They look exactly like mine did at her age. The surgery went well and she ended up losing 7 teeth that day. Two baby teeth fell out during the surgery. They didn't charge us for those (gee thanks). Anne had a speedy recovery thank God. She has the wires on now and I can already see a difference.

1st Day of School Pics

Well the summer flew by and it is time for school to begin again. I think I was ready for school to begin more than the kids. It is hard to believe that I have a kid in Jr. High. God help me!! Time is just flying by. Anne now switches classes and has three teachers. She also changed uniforms. Jamee is excited that she gets a locker in 4th grade. Joshua loves his teacher, our beloved, Mrs. Boyle. I prayed all year that she didn't retire. My prayers were answered because she is retiring at the end of this year.
